How builduo works

One job, one set of numbers, agreed by both sides as the job goes. Here’s what happens from quote to sign-off.

  1. 01

    Set up your business

Start typing your company name and we fill in your details from Companies House. Add your insurance once. Your client sees both on every job.

  2. 02

    Send the job

Add the contract total, payment stages and your terms. Your client gets an email link — no app to download, no password.

  3. 03

    Your client accepts

They check the total, the stages and your terms, then tap Accept. Homeowners also see their cancellation rights. From then on the contract total is locked.

  4. 04

Extras and credits as you go

Price an extra on site and send it. Your client approves it or asks a question. Work taken out comes off the total the same way. Nothing changes the total without both of you.

  5. 05

    Payments

Ask for a stage payment when it’s done. Your client approves it, can mark it as paid, and you confirm when the money arrives. Reminders go out if something’s waiting.

  6. 06

    Final account and sign-off

Everything you’ve both agreed adds up on one screen. Your client signs it off, the job closes, and the defects period starts. Either of you can download the full record as a PDF.

Illustrations use made-up sample data.

What builduo doesn’t do

It doesn’t hold or move money: your client pays you direct, the way they do now, or through a service like Trusted Payments. It isn’t job-management software — no scheduling or timesheets. It does one thing: keeps the numbers agreed on both sides.

Who can see what

The builder and every client they invite to the job see the same figures and history. Up to four people on the client side (for example a couple). Nobody can edit or delete what’s been recorded.
